I am dead

I am dead
my heart aches
I feel no pain
All my love returns as vengeance
no one knows me, nobody cares
The streets of love, deserted they are
The air is dead, there is no rain
I am thirsty for a drop of love
running after a mirage in the desert sands
Gone are the soft petals, the red roses
I trot through dead cactus, carcass and thorns
Somewhere far away lies an ocean of love
of warmth, of care; no despair
I will die one day in this heat and desolation
I am dead now, I will be dead then
my heart aches
I feel no pain

The Shooting star

qformat="true" name="Emphasis">

The Shooting Star

It was dark inside and the audience was quite

May be there wasn’t an audience at all

Some were sleeping, others reading

I gazed aimlessly

Through the plastic window by my side

The vast emptiness of the stage outside

Lit it was, with countless stars

Hanging in there, on an invisible thread

Never vacillating, ever glowing

There were flashes all across the horizon

A storm must be brewing in the clouds below

The sky glowed like Bellagio’s fountain show

It was one beautiful sight

The stars stood there still

Was I even moving? Was it a paradox?

Awestruck I was with such mysterious thoughts.

It was then that I saw the most beautiful thing of all

‘A shooting star’ that sank into the flashes of lightning below

On a star-studded Spring night

36000 ft above the ground

through the plastic window by my side,

Flying back home to Dallas that night

It was one beautiful sight.

No One knows Who I am

No One Knows Who I Am
from the musical "Jekyll & Hyde"
Music by Frank Wildhorn, Lyrics by Leslie Bricusse

Look at me and tell me who I am,
Why I am - what I am.
Call me a fool and it's true - I am.
I don't know who I am.
It's such a shame,
I'm such a sham.
No one knows who I am.

Once there were sweet possibilities
I could see, just for me.
Now all my dreams are just memories,
Fated never to be.
Time's not a friend,
Hurrying by.
I wonder - who am I?

Am I the face of the future?
Am I the face of the past?
Am I the one who must finish last?

Look at me and tell me who I am,
Why I am - what I am.
Will I survive?
Who will give a damn
If no one knows who I am?
Nobody knows,
Not even you.
No one knows who I am.

The Cold Wind

Once again the dead cold air sneaked in

From across the naked autumn landscape

The door squeeked,

curtains rustled and twirled in a dancing wave

Scathing, biting it pounced on the warm flesh

With a conniving smile, it conspired into my ears

The heart slipped a beat or two

But, the brain didn’t believe that it was true

How could the world turn so cold?

It drove down the memory lane

To a moment locked safe behind a wall

where no blatant cold thought would cross

Last time when this storm blew

it had taken a huge toll

It was then that I had asked HIM

for strength , compassion and warmth

That moment was locked safe for me to own

When testing times like these

try to take me away from my soul

HIGH- way

I drove across the highway that day
Revving the engine loud, scrolling the windows down
I could feel the gush of warm breeze flowing in
Zigzagging past other cars, was I going too fast?
May be, others were slow
May be, they didn’t know where to go

There was music in my heart
The air was warm and the sun was out
There could be meadows in the distance,
where the grass was tall
There could be a river sparkling in the sunlight
Somewhere under the canopy of green leaves,
Snakes, creepers, and old banyan trees
May be, someone was guarding that place
And that path was long forgotten
May be, I was going too fast
May be, others were slow
May be, they didn’t know where to go

The Fatal Kiss

The fatal kiss

She had been suffering for ages

Cycling between life and death,a phoenix she was

The affair started on a cold winter night.

Prodded by the peers, with shivers running down the spine

He approached her with anxiety, with pride

There she stood with all dignity,in a world so cold

In the company of her sisters ,wrapped in gold

She was a master blend ,a class apart

She had her vices and her charms

But he was there to stay,a MAN he was

He mustered all courage and swept her in his arms

She fumbled in his fingers for a while

He felt cold from within, searching for warmth

The passion flamed, the match was struck

She glowed and simmered,a virgin she was

In his faltering hands she cried for love

He moved her to his lips,

‘Till death do us part’

The fire was burning within

the lips locked, he kissed her hard

the sparks flew across the distance

and filled his lungs and heart

shrouded in the cloud of fire and smoke

their love bloomed, the world didn’t know

she threw out her spell, enticed he was;

day in and day out they dated in secrecy

in restrooms, rooftops,lanes and subways.

But the brutal world has ways of its own

they could not stand it in front of their nose

there was no fire, but all smoke

people threw him out of “public”, a pariah he was

But true love knows no bounds

No fetters could chain them know

She continued to shower him

With love so selfless,so warm

All his worries,All the clouds of doubt

Disappeared in the rings of fire and smoke, from dusk to dawn.

So did again, he moved her to his lips

‘Till death do us part’

Romeo must die,Juliet must die

true love needs sacrifice.

He must die slowly, with her, without her

No matter how hard they try, only ashes remain

She burns herself with each kiss

And disappears in the mist of tears and pain

With a heavy heart and a lump in his throat

Words don’t come easily,what a tragedy

The world disowned them, they were on their own

But no longer could he bear her passion

She grew stronger with her demands

She wanted more time,more attention

The nectar turned to sweet poison with age

He died slowly in her arms, each day, each kiss apart

the pyre was ready, about to fire

he knew it was not going to last forever

so with the last gush of the cold breeze

he held her in his arms, the fatal blow would aid his release

So did again, he moved her to his lips

‘Till death do us part’

the world stood there

watching them die

‘what a waste,what a pity’

they let out a cry.
