The Cold Wind

Once again the dead cold air sneaked in

From across the naked autumn landscape

The door squeeked,

curtains rustled and twirled in a dancing wave

Scathing, biting it pounced on the warm flesh

With a conniving smile, it conspired into my ears

The heart slipped a beat or two

But, the brain didn’t believe that it was true

How could the world turn so cold?

It drove down the memory lane

To a moment locked safe behind a wall

where no blatant cold thought would cross

Last time when this storm blew

it had taken a huge toll

It was then that I had asked HIM

for strength , compassion and warmth

That moment was locked safe for me to own

When testing times like these

try to take me away from my soul
